Right at the beginning, you will discover one of the highlights of the Four Seasons Path: After a short climb through forest, you will be greeted by a small, enchanting lake – the Egelsee. This mystical lake lies in the midst of fascinating mountain countryside and is certain to captivate both you and your children.

Now the choice is yours: Either make a loop of this small lake, or continue your hike along the Four Seasons Path.

Tour through the four seasons with Rabe Hias

Along this roughly one kilometer-long theme path in Golling, you and your children will learn all about nature in the area with the help of 32 information stations. They tell you about the forest animals, big and small, about rare plants and mighty trees. Your constant companion is Rabe Hias, the helpful crow, who enchants the children at every station and puts a big smile on their faces.

Adding to the adventure are several interactive locations in the forest. Whether the maze, watching the bees busily buzzing in and out of the hive, a balance course or the Celtic Tree Horoscope: You are certain to have lots of unforgettable experiences in the fresh air of Golling, in the Tennengau region of Salzburg.

And after so many discoveries with your children, you will certainly need to catch your breath from time to time. We suggest making yourself comfortable on one of the benches located at particularly scenic spots along the pathway.

My tip: The bench in front of the park chapel affords really beautiful views!

Arrival

The Golling Four Seasons Path is located close to the town center of Golling. After leaving your car at the free Trögergasse car park, the forest paradise and fascinating Egelsee await you.

Tip: Combine your excursion with a visit to one of the outstanding eateries along Market Street in Golling. Decide whether you are in the mood for the Toque-awarded cuisine of Andreas Döllerer or the sweet homemade confections of Cafe Maier. With the TennengauPLUS-Card, you also get to ride all buses and trains in Tennengau for free.

The Four Seasons Path is always well worth a visit and is also free of charge. Whether in summer, winter, autumn, or to snatch the first rays of spring sunshine. To enjoy this excursion to the fullest, I suggest wearing sturdy shoes and hiking clothes.

Incidentally: the gravel-topped forest path is also suitable for prams/strollers.

Don’t forget your swimsuits! Close by, you will also find Aqua Salza Golling. After indulging yourself in the wellness and bathing facilities there, just a few steps away, take a left and there you will be at the Egelsee.
